Gemological Science International (GSI), one of the largest independently owned gemological laboratories in the world, said its Botswana laboratory is the first in Africa to use DiaMension(tm) Axiom in Africa. DiaMension Axiom is Sarine’s next generation high-end technology diamond scanner for measuring and modeling polished diamonds.
According to the institute, the DiaMension(tm) Axiom is the only scanner that enables fully automated cut & symmetry grading. Such innovative technology breaches the boundaries of the old Shadows modeling concept and limitations.
Debbie Azar, EVP, GSI, said they are proud to be the first user of the DiaMension(tm) Axiom. “With its introduction, GSI can now detect the tiniest attributes and features of the diamond, such as facets’ pointing down to a microns level of accuracy,” she said.
“Our clients will significantly benefit from one of the new capabilities offered by its products”, she added.” Uzi Levami, the chief executive of Sarine, stated, “After 25 years of 3D modeling based on shadows the DiaMension(tm) Axiom revolutionises with new in-light direct modeling of real-time microscope analysis, detecting the tiniest imperfections of the diamond, such as facet Junctions.”
“We are deeply honored that GSI, one of the largest laboratories in the world, has placed their trust in our products and consider it a privilege to continue to be their supplier of choice”, he added.
