The countdown to the second annual Lilac Media Awards is underway, with only 4 days left until the anticipated event. The Lilac Media Awards are set for Friday 13th December 2013, and will once more recognize and celebrate Botswana’s media houses, as surveyed in terms of the public’s perception during the period 2012/13.

Honourable Vice President, Dr. Ponatshego H. Kedikilwe, is set to attend as guest of honour for the Awards.

The Lilac Media Awards, an initiative of Hotwire PRC, celebrates high performers in the categories of radio and print newspapers, each with a number of accolades within the respective categories. The platform aims recognise public perception and empower the consumer to share how they feel about local media platforms in a bid to help grow and shape the media and communications industry.

The selection of award recipients is based on an annual independent media survey conducted by Hotwire PRC. The survey, conducted both manually and electronically, saw a sampling of 1, 067 people across gender, age, income and geography.
