Standard Bank Group Chief Executive, Mr Sim Tshabalala, visited Botswana today to engage with valued local stakeholders.
Stanbic Bank Botswana, a member of the Standard Bank Group, hosted Mr. Tshabalala along with Standard Bank Africa CEO, Mr Chris Newson, and Regional Chief Executive: Southern and Central Africa in Standard Bank Africa, Ms Pindie Nyandoro. The team used the occasion to meet with Stanbic Bank Senior Management, Regulators, and some Stanbic Bank customers within Gaborone.
The visit comes at a time when both Standard Bank Group and Stanbic Bank Botswana strive to further strengthen relationships with the local business community. The visit further served as an opportunity for Mr Tshabalala and the Standard Bank Group team to better appreciate the local market and business. This is especially so following Stanbic Bank Botswana’s transition into the new Core Banking System which went “live” in March 2013. This system is one of the Standard Bank’s largest-scale projects in recent years.
“I am delighted to visit Botswana once again. It is a fantastic country with wonderful people. As a group, we pride ourselves in making every effort to provide our customers and clients with a world-class service. We have motivated and dedicated people who are focused on ensuring that this happens on a daily basis. We are really proud of our Botswana business and what the entire Stanbic Bank Botswana team have achieved over the past 22 years,” said Mr Tshabalala.
Standard Bank is committed to building the leading African financial services organisations using all its competitive advantages to the full.
Said Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive, Mr Leina Gabaraane, “We are very proud of our performance in the 22 years that Stanbic Bank has had our doors open to Batswana. It’s an incredible relationship that we strive to strengthen even further. With Mr. Tshabalala, Mr Newson and Ms. Nyandoro’s visit, we look forward to showing our growth and investment in Botswana, and indeed in Batswana, while giving them greater insight into how we do things in Botswana and of the key stakeholders and players involved in the team that drives us to success.
