Digital textbook platform Kortext have announced the launch of an eBook platform for the Botswana market. The launch sees a partnership between Kortext and Books Botswana’s parent company, John Smith International.
“Books Botswana will be working with institutional partners to introduce the benefits of eBooks for faculty and students. In addition to providing access to digital textbooks, lecturers are able to use the Kortext service to request and access review copies of textbooks and help plan their courses for delivery on a digital platform,” commented John Smith’s International Managing Director, Andy Free.
Kortext offers on-line and offline access to key textbooks from multiple publishers, combined with a set of tools that provide the user with functionality beyond that of traditional textbooks. This ensures a combination of both traditional and new media to enhance the learning experience and access to knowledge within the education space. Kortext provides solutions for both individual and institutional purchasing of prescribed digital textbooks.
Kortext is device agnostic, providing the student with a portable learning environment. Howard Blythe, Kortext Head of Marketing commented, “The launch of this platform is the culmination of extensive research around providing institutions with a delivery mechanism for e-textbooks that is both practical for the student and economically viable for the institution.”
Concluded Mr. Free, “The addition of Kortext to our services is a vital step forward in the future provision of textbooks to our Botswana student community.”
