Fairgrounds Holdings says the 2014 Consumer Fair will come with new features that are expected to draw more enthusiasts to the event billed for August.
New additions to this year’s fair include the introduction of the 4 X 4 driver training and testing promises to bring in a new dimension to the show.  “Off road fanatics will be treated to a week of excitement as they will get to test drive 4 x 4`s on obstacles and course and enjoy off road training,” the organisers said.
Fairgrounds has also partnered with Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) in a bid to expose upcoming local artists. The partnership will provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talent to the Botswana Consumer Fair visitors.
InnerAura and Fairground Holdings have also developed a concept that will stimulate new found interest and excitement in The Consumer Fair. “Fashion X is a collaborative effort between Fairground Holdings as the hosts, and InnerAura as the coordinators of an event that will add a touch of lifestyle, fashion, color and glamour to the Consumer Fair program.”
There is also a partnership with The Botswana Red Cross society where they will pilot their new project, Restoring Family links .The initiative will curb the gap that has existed in the past fairs where children were separated from their parents and took long to be reconnected.

The judging of the stands takes place on second day of the fair, Tuesday 28th August 2014 and this year Minister of Environment Wildlife & Tourism Tshekedi Khama will be the guest of honour at the Best Stall Awards/Prize-giving Ceremony on Thursday 28th August 2014, where he will deliver a keynote address.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility Fairgrounds Holdings said it will continue ‘our association with Holy Cross Hospice Day Care Center, which is an NGO which support children of terminally ill parents’.  Kids aged between 4 – 8 will be invited on a complimentary basis to enjoy Fairground Holdings hospitality.

Fairgrounds has also announced the introduction of webtickets, electronic ticket sales for speedy entry into the fair for the second time this year is one of the improvements we are proud of.
