The Organisation of Eastern and Southern Africa Insurers’ 37th Annual Conference will be held for the first time in Botswana at the GICC from the 16th to the 19th November 2014. There is only three days left before the Botswana Insurance Industry opens its doors to host potential insurance industry investors, decision makers, and high level delegates from Eastern and Southern Africa.
This conference will be graced by key players who will provide a wealth of information on pertinent issues in the insurance market. The theme of the conference is titled “Overcoming Barriers to Enhancing Regional Capacity in the Insurance Industry”. The theme is befitting, since the sector is currently facing numerous challenges that need sophisticated solutions enabling insurers to remain relevant and to provide insurance covers that meets the dynamic market needs.
Three key topics, (amongst a number of others) that the platform will address are on issues of Climate Change in Africa and the Role of Insurance, Providing Health Insurance In Africa including, The Role Of Technology In Enhancing Insurance Penetration In The Region. To ensure that these issues are sufficiently addressed, renowned speakers have been roped in to chair different paper discussions that are relevant to their field of expertise.
The conference has attracted delegates from all over Africa including Angola, Bahrain, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Switzerland, Southern Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, UK, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
