Botswana tourism industry has pledged to work with incoming Minister of Environment, wildlife and Tourism, Tshekedi Khama.
In a show is appreciation Cresta Marakanelo hosted a dinner in Gaborone on Thursday where captains of the industry, private sector and government officials said goodbye to Kitso Mokaila, the former minister.
President Ian Khama Seretse Khama has appointed Kitso Mokaila, the Minister of Minerals, Energy and water Resources where he pledged to continue supporting the industry to replace Vice President Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe.
“We engaged and disagreed in many issues, but in many ways it was for the good,” says Mokaila.
Mokaila has been the minister responsible for tourism for the past 8 years and has been credited in turning around its fortunes including the rampant racism especially in camps in the northern part of the country.
Cresta Managing Director Tawanda Makhaya said: “We are glad you are going to the ministry which is relevant to our industry”.
