Exhibitors from the region and international tourism service providers spend will showcase their products and services at the upcoming TOURISM EXPO BOTSWANA 2013 to be held 13th-16th August 2013.
The expo is a consumer and trade based marketing platform and it will be held under the theme “Bringing Travel/Tourism to the people”.
“Botswana being a landlocked country is a primary market feeder for tourism within the region. Local travel enthusiast travel extensively outside the borders of Botswana and therefore it is imperative to educate local potential travellers and create awareness within the local travel market of what services and products the regional and international market has to offer,” said the organisers.
This year the tourism expo will be officially opened by Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Tshekedi Khama at an exclusive Welcome Breakfast which will be attended by the diplomatic corps, Members of Parliament, local trade and media that will be held at Game City on the 13th August 2013. The Welcome Breakfast will also be an opportunity to showcase and welcome all the exhibitors to Botswana and highlight on their various destinations.
Tourism Expo Botswana is a unique trade and consumer show as it has an intimate and more structured feel to it. Trade and Consumers are able to spend time in learning about the various offerings that the exhibitors have to offer and valuable networking opportunities are created. Tourism Expo Botswana will be hosting 15 local and regional trade and exhibitors will have an opportunity to network and create excellent business networks. Exhibitors will be giving away amazing holiday packages for consumers.
The Inaugural Tourism Expo Botswana which was held in August 2012 had over 2500 visitors over a three day period and it contributed significantly to the local economy as visiting exhibitors spent money on accommodation, food, transportation and shopping.
This year Tourism Expo Botswana 2013 will be hosting two internationally renowned and recognized Tourism Publications namely Travel and Tour World and Film and Event Media. These publications are distributed internationally at all the travel/tourism fairs and expos and also have a significant online foot print. Tourism Expo Botswana 2013 will also be hosting 15 trade and travel professionals who are intrested in learning more about Botswana and experiencing Botswana. The hosted trade come from Ethiopia, South Africa, India and Brazil.
Having the hosted trade at the expo will provide a unique and vital opportunity for local accommodation, transport and tourism related activities to meet and create business networks with the hosted trade which will at a later stage be beneficial to both parties. This would be a unique opportunity to sell Botswana and other exhibiting destinations to the global market.
