Kenya Airways has announced an expansion of its regional network due to increasingly high demand. This comes after the introduction of the night flights and the new routes.
Kenya Airways launched the two night flights in April due to increased demand from customers. Providing seamless connections for customers travelling to Botswana was a priority so as to reduce long transit times.
“The introduction of the night flights to Gaborone comes as the airline aims to meet the rising demand for travel between the two cities. This also allows Kenya Airways customers take advantage of the Airlines growing route network via its hub at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,” Kenya Airways Country Manager, Juliet Zintambila.
She added that Kenya Airways is cognizant of the fact that transport is an important factor in the development of a country as it allows for movement of goods and services as well us opening up new markets. “Our newest destinations are Livingstone in Zambia, Blantyre in Malawi and Abu Dhabi. The expansion is in line with our core purpose of contributing to sustainable development, not only in Kenya, but also the rest of the African continent,” Zintambila said.
The new flights are one of those that will be served by the new E190 jets .The Embraer has proven to be a fantastic aircraft for servicing the regional routes of Kenya Airways and fits well with their African ambitions. Kenya Airways and Boeing signed an agreement that will see the long awaited 787 Dreamliner jets delivered by 2014. These are critical developments as they all demonstrate the marshaling of all resources by the airline to ensure that they deliver the best service.
