GTAC, as it is known, exists to promote a better understanding of Travel & Tourism’s role as a driver of economic growth and employment and foster governments to develop policies which contribute to the profitable, sustainable and long-term growth of the industry.
GTAC is now comprised of Airports Council International (ACI), Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), World Economic Forum (WEF), World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
David Scowsill, President & CEO of WTTC, said the Global Travel Association Coalition has no offices, no staff and no budget. It doesn’t hold conferences, events or conduct research. It is not an organisation or association in its own right.
“Instead, it is a collection of organisations and associations within the Travel & Tourism industry which have common goals and recognise the need to be aligned in their advocacy work and speak with one voice on the major issues. Together GTAC members share research and singular messaging, and work on issues such as barriers to growth and connectivity with a united industry voice.”
