The Rail Park Comedy & Cocktails Night is bringing non-stop laughter and excitement to the palate in Gaborone on Friday the 22nd of April at Rail Park Mall Food Court area with Botswana and South Africa’s most funny and acclaimed stand-up comedians.

The headliners for the upcoming show are Botswana’s very own Junior “Jujuvine” Sekolokwane and top South African comedian Sifiso Nene. Namibia based Jujuvine will be making his comedy debut at the Rail Park Comedy& Cocktails Night.

He is well known for sharing funny skits on social media that has earned him loads of fans in Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa alike where the skits have been widely shared. This created interest from different media as he was interviewed by Motsweding FM in South Africa and almost all the radio stations locally. Although this will be his first show on stage, he promised the audience ultimate entertainment as all the characters associated with Jujuvine such as Moruti Mahatshehatshe and Kgatleng FM Dj will be part of his stage act.

Sifiso Nene is a South African comedian, poet and actor best known for winning the first season of the SABC1 reality competition talent search So You Think You’re Funny. His win on the show led to greater exposure for Sifiso as he landed a slot on Opening Guys.

He also joined the SABC1 youth talk show Mzansi Insider as a contributor and starred in the David Kau film Taxi Ride as Bhakabhaka. In 2012 and 2013 he won the Audience Choice Award at the Annual South African Comics Choice Awards, which is voted for by the public. He also won a SATMA Award and starred in a Standard Bank TV advert.

In 2016 he has headlined the Metro FM Music Awards Comedy Night and is currently touring with his one man show “Baby Mama Drama”. Not only is Sifiso an established comedian, an articulate poet and talented actor, he is also an author. He has published his first book entitled, ‘Our Father’, where he bears his soul to the world.

The show also presents first timers and cocktail connoisseurs alike pure heaven savoring of some of the world’s best cocktails served by Ryt Refreshments. With the event set in the food court area, patrons can enjoy their meals while getting to know the flavor, the aroma, the color and overall appearance of the different cocktails presented by the Cocktail Master. The cocktail tasting which will be conducted by top notch experts surely brings an exciting perspective to the star studded event.

Also performing at the event are 2 times President’s Day Comedy Competition Champion Oefile “Mawee” Mokgware from Gabane and Phenyo “The Master” from Mochudi who recently recorded his 1 man show. The two comics have been featured on all the top comedy shows in 2015 such as HICOFEST, 2nd Annual Francistown Comedy and Poetry Night, Strictly Come Laughing, GIMC, All Star Comedy, etc. Always known for bringing up and coming comedians to the forefront of Botswana comedy, each show we see new comedians introduced and given a chance to share the stage with top acts. This time around making their comedy debut is Ommusitse “Stix”Magacha from Maun. Stix brings clean, high energy, fun and clever comedy to the show.

“The Rail Park Mall comedy events have been consistently running for the past 4 years. This shows our commitment in supporting local talent as they as they also contribute a lot towards helping us market the mall and be trendsetters and thus bring new customers to our mall. Every year we come up with different themes that will appeal to different sectors of the community which makes the events more appealing and exciting as they lure new customers while retaining the existing ones”, says Galebutswe Masu from Rail Park Mall.

“The main aim really is to continue spreading awareness about our Food court as well as standup comedy as an alternative form of entertainment that is abundant in Botswana. But the ultimate goal is to also help local comedians turn their talent into a livelihood”, she added.

The event will be held at the Rail Park Mall Food court and the event is slated for Friday 22 April at 7pm.Tickets for the Rail Park Mall Comedy &Cocktail Night are available at Rail Park Mall Centre Management, Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P150 single and P200 double.
