Wesbank Botswana International Airshow 2016 stands to thrill

airshowThe countdown to one of Africa’s biggest shows has begun. With under 10 days to go before Botswana’s skies are decorated with a plethora of aircraft engine smoke streams and cheers from crowds below, the WesBank International Airshow 2016 boasts a stellar lineup. With at least 31 aerial displays and counting scheduled, final touches are underway for the event set to take place on May 28 2016 at Matsieng Aerodrome in Rasesa.

“This is one of Botswana’s most anticipated annual events without a doubt because of its fantastic lineup of aircrafts and stunts for the adrenaline junkie and fun lover. In its three years the WesBank International Airshow has proven to be a hot pot of amazing sportsmanship, opportunities for attendees to make business connections and a great time for friends and family,” said WesBank Director, Justine Basiami.

Aeronautical enthusiasts, families, sports lovers and many other common groups living in Botswana and from beyond her borders stand to be thrilled. This year’s featured aircrafts will be from world renowned international brands including Mustang, Trojan, Good Year and more. Also lined up for the day will include Parachute Drops and helicopter performances.

The Airshow is organised by the Matsieng Trust and sponsored by WesBank Botswana, a division of First National Bank of Botswana. Some of the proceeds from the WesBank Botswana International Airshow through the Matsieng Trust will be donated to four charity organisations namely; Lady Khama Charitable Trust, Sir Ketumile Masire Foundation, Motswedi Rehabilitation Centre and Mochudi Resource Centre For The Blind.

“What’s also great about the WesBank International Airshow is that it provides Botswana opportunities for regional engagement since spectators and participants reside from both here at home and our neighboring nations. Closer to our hearts is the fact that our contribution goes towards charities who are committed to the business of changing lives for the better every day,” concluded Basiami.
