Wilderness Safaris, Africa’s leading authentic and sustainable ecotourism company with over 37 camps in eight African countries has appointed Renuka Natu to manage its sales representation in the Indian market, effective 15 January 2017.

Renuka Natu.
“As Renuka has over 20 years’ experience in the travel and tourism industry and in-depth knowledge of the Indian market, we are thrilled to be partnering with her to promote our safari camp offering and to work closely with our trade partners in strategically growing our business in this exciting and dynamic market,” said Wilderness Safaris Chief Sales Officer, Dave Bennett.
Renuka previously held numerous senior positions within Kuoni India and Switzerland Tourism before launching her own travel representation company in October 2010. She has also represented the Schilthorn Cableway and the Zanzibar Collection in the past and currently has an impressive client list that includes East African DMC Vintage Africa (now Sense of Africa), Governors’ Camp Collection, African Hotels and Adventures (AHA) as well as the DMC for South Africa – SST.
Renuka will report into Wilderness Safaris Business Unit Manager, Graham Simmonds, who is based in Zimbabwe. According to Simmonds, Wilderness Safaris has had its eye on growing its market share in India for many months now and he is excited to partner with someone of Renuka’s calibre in order to promote Wilderness Safaris’ unique portfolio of safari camps to Indian travellers.
“With the completion of the Victoria Falls International Airport, we are expecting travel from India to increase as the air routes to the Zambezi region and bordering countries multiply. Ethiopian Airways will be launching flights from Addis Ababa to Victoria Falls in April 2017, which means that guests can fly from India to Addis and connect with ease to Zimbabwe,” Simmonds added.
Together with Renuka’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the behavioural patterns and preferences of the ‘end consumer’, Wilderness Safaris is confident that it will be able to offer its trade partners a valuable service to help craft the best itineraries for its Indian guests, offering life-changing journeys to some of Africa’s most remote wilderness areas.
