Major Moves Comedy hosts Clive Chigubu’s One-Man Show

Lovers of stand-up comedy will on Thursday, April 26 th experience yet another top notch and entertaining comedy event. Get ready for some healthy action night as one of the top performers from Zimbabwe Clive Chigubu will be bringing his one-man show to Multicuisine Restaurant at Zambezi towers in the CBD alongside Botswana’s most funny stand-up comedians. One-man standup comedy shows are a worldwide phenomenon, having launched many a career for standup comics internationally.

 

Clive who was a hit at the 4th & 5th Annual Heavyweight International Comedy Festival (HICOFEST) has been on the road with his one man. A raw gem from the City of Kings and Queens, he is one of the stand-up comedians that always stands out wherever he performs. The Bulawayo-born and bred actor-cum-comedian has been nominated more than once for a National Arts Merit Award and performed in South Africa, Kenya, UK, Swaziland, etc. It is his catchphrase “Ye Ye-e”, which has become his trademark and a hit with audiences.

 

The one-man comedy show is titled Asante Sana: Laugh After 37 years and was launched in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe featuring Major Moves Comedians Augustus Phillimon and Katlo “KLo” Lekgowe. The audience will be treated to too much hilarity and great silliness from the comedians while also enjoying a meal and beverage of their choice. Augustus is a Francistown based comedian who obtained third position at the 2017 President’s Day Comedy Competition finals. He has recently performed internationally in Pretoria, South Africa managing to hold his own and delivering an outstanding performance. Katlo ‘K-Lo’ Lekgowe from Kopong has recently performed in Windhoek, Namibia and will bring his clean, high energy, fun and clever comedy.

 

“We are excited to be hosting Clive who recently hosted our comedians in Zimbabwe. This event is another way to develop a different and alternative form of entertainment as well as get comedians active and at par with international acts. We will be giving comedians more time on stage and Clive will be doing a full set of his one-man show. We’ll also give stage time to unknown upcoming comedians as part of artist development and capacity building,” said events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy, Gaolathe Kediemetse.
