Major Moves Comedy is back from the winter break with an all female lineup for their monthly event. The Queens of Comedy event will showcase female comics from different countries who will share the stage with local heavyweights. The stellar lineup includes female comedians from Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe who will take to the stage at Masa Square Hotel on Friday August 2.

Nancy Vikacha is Zambia’s premier female comedian and is part of the Night of Laughter stand-up comedy crew. She is one of the busiest comedians in Lusaka as she doubles up as a Theatre Actress, Model and TV Presenter. Rekunde is definitely one of the funniest and most active female comedians to come out of Botswana. The maun born comedian has graced many events and has being engaged by corporate where she always leaves the audience in stiches. Mamito who has large following on social media will be making her debut on the comedy stage.
Swaziland’s only female comedian Mandy, is excited to be performing in Botswana after being featured in big events such Swaziland International Comedy Festival, Zero Chill Comedy and MTN Rhymes & Laughter. She brings clean, high energy, fun and clever comedy to any stage raging on the absurd, ridiculous and unbelievable. Lebo English is a firebrand in the local comedy circles and always delivers spectacular performances. Bulawayo’s first female comedian Nomsa MsDee is determined to scale the heights and take comedy to another level. A raw gem from the City of Kings and Queens, she is one of the stand-up comedians that always stands out wherever she performs.
“We are excited to be hosting the all female lineup for the first time. We want to develop and encourage female participation in the comedy industry as currently we have very few Batswana female comedians. Queens of Comedy offers a platform for local comedians and international comics to collaborate to find different challenges faced and come up with ways that can greatly improve female participation.” said events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Gaolathe Kediemetse. The venue sponsor is Masa Square Hotel and tickets are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P200 single and P300 double. The shows start at 8pm.
