Major Moves Comedy is back with yet another rib cracking lineup for their monthly event this August. First Friday Comedy which has been successfully happening every first Friday is back with a bang at Cresta President Hotel after being suspended because of the corona pandemic. Following the easing of restrictions, the audience will be treated to too much hilarity and great silliness from a variety of comics as they take to the stage on Friday August 7.

The amusing and funny lineup will feature top local comedians for the first event post lock down. The stellar lineup that has resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende will feature humorous comedy from Boniface ‘Roy’ Phetolo, Queen of comedy Malebogo ‘Lebo English’ Lekgowa, Maatla Ephraim Basha, and Ndiye ‘Triccs’ Tampa. The event will also bring upcoming comedians to the forefront as new comedians will be introduced and given a chance to share stage with these established acts.

Events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Gaolathe Kediemetse said since lock down comedians have been longing to showcase their talent on stage. “With the new normal most have used different social media platforms, however for stand up comedians the stage is still the best place for them to showcase. With these monthly events we also develop and nurture talent especially those who have been active on social media in our quest to create a sustainable market and monetising the talent.”

The event will follow the COVID-19 regulations as prescribed by the Presidential COVID-19 Task Force Team and thus patrons will among others be required to put on masks, register to get into the event, sanitize, practice social distancing, and happen in less than 2 hours.

“We are excited to be hosting the event under the new normal and will be following the COVID-19 regulations. We have limited tickets available for the event which will also enable social distancing and we will have a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure the regulations are being followed. We want to develop and contribute positively to lives of the comedians while protecting the health of our patrons”, added Kediemetse. The venue sponsor is Cresta President Hotel and tickets are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P200 single and P300 double. The show starts at 8pm.
