Botswana Insurance Company says it is holding its Brokers Forum for this year on April 19 at its Head Office in Gaborone. According to BIC, this is an important session as brokers are a vital link between the insurer and insured. “Brokers serve as an intermediary between buyers and sellers of insurance policies by giving out information and advice to clients regarding insurance needs, guidance on insurer skills, capabilities, risk dispositions, financial strength,” says BIC.
“Brokers also play an essential role in helping the insurer to gather information about prospective clients’ level of risk which assists in pricing policies more competitively and fairly. Brokers add value to the industry and for BIC are critical business partners.”
BIC says the objective of the forum is to update brokers on the company’s overall plans and key department initiatives. It is also an opportunity for brokers as important stakeholders, to understand their role in the BIC structure, new business policies and their impact on service delivery.
This forum will also serve as a platform for brokers to discuss and deliberate on issues that can hinder their performances, and for BIC to focus on areas of improvement.
“An added bonus to the forum is that there will be an information session on accelerating and redirecting profits towards positive growth through a specific presentation on sales and marketing, time management, customer retention, leadership and organisation management.”
