Stanbic Bank Botswana continues its support of Nomads, a local charity organisation with whom the Bank has enjoyed strong relations for a number of years. The Bank this year sponsors the Nomads National Tournament to the value of P150,000,00. The tournament is set to begin on Friday 17th October and conclude on Saturday 18th October 2014.

The National Tournament is held every year, with this weekend’s edition serving as the 14th National Tournament in Botswana.  This is the first year Stanbic Bank Botswana will sponsor the event. “We have sponsored the monthly Nomads Golf Days and  have enjoyed a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with the Nomads Club.

We’re excited to take this relationship once step further in what we hope to be yet another long-term, fruitful partnership,” said Mr. Louis Van Ravesteyn, Head, Business Banking, Stanbic Bank Botswana.

The Tournament is expected to attract over 200 golfers, with participants registered from countries including South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mauritius joining Batswana golfers on the green.

“Golf has no doubt forged its way into becoming the sport of businessmen and women, and we appreciate being able to partner with financial institutions such as Stanbic Bank. We look forward to strengthening our relationship in years to come to the mutual benefit of both parties” said Barry Malan the Captain of Nomads Botswana.

Nomads is a members only charity organisation consisting of 140 golf playing members, many of whom shall participate in the National Tournament. The club hosts monthly games and tournaments from which proceeds raised are given to charity organisations. Membership of the Club is made up of top executives, professionals and successful business owners, many of whom enjoy strong relationships with Stanbic Bank’s Business Banking division.
