MultiChoice Botswana has upped the ante in working to give Batswana so much more. The brand has announced an enhanced bouquet of offerings, and also shared greater insight into the various charitable initiatives in which it has been involved.
Among some of the products highlighted before media at a recent engagement held were the recently introduced Box Office, DStv Catch Up, SuperSport Live Streaming and the DStv Now App. These come as part of the brand’s efforts to ensure enhanced convenience, access and enjoyment for customers. “The uptake of offerings such as Box Office has been pleasing; Batswana have a clear need for relevant, diverse and current content. We are confident our customers will be equally, if not more, pleased with the further additions we have made to our offerings, and look forward to continugn to always offer them so much more,” said MutliChoice Botswana Marketing Executive, Ms. Basadi Masimolole.
The DStv Now App is free to download and is available to all DStv subscribers using Android or iOS phones/tablets with a broadband internet connection (however, viewing content is only available to Premium PVR subscribers). Exclusive content includes; ShortsTV, a channel which broadcasts short films and stories in high definition; Ginx TV which offers 24/7 reviews on the best video reviews, news and features; and Eurochannel, which features top European entertainment ranging from recent blockbusters to critically acclaimed TV series.
Another exciting announcement made was the launch of Eva, a brand new telenovela channel made for Africa by AMC Networks International – Zone (AMCNI Zone) and available to DStv Premium, Compact Plus and Compact subscribers. Other new channels on the horizon are the new localised BET channel which features South African content, and M-Net City, which will provide Compact subscribers with quality international content.
Commented MultiChoice Botswana’s Public Relations and Publicity Executive, Ms. Thembile Legwaila, “From 6 April 2015, a new general entertainment channel, M-Net City, will replace M-Net Series Zone on channel 115. This will allow Compact viewers to enjoy enhanced offerings ranging from comedies, to talk shows, as well as crime and drama series.”
“Beyond product and service offerings, however, we are also upping the ante when it comes to our community work,” Ms. Legwaila noted. Speaking to the broader MultiChoice Botswana efforts at community support, she further alluded to the brand’s partnership with the Ministry of Education. This has seen 53 MultiChoice Resource Centres established around the country. “Through this initiative, MultiChoice has provided schools the opportunity to enhance their syllabi by incorporating visual technology into their teaching.”
MultiChoice Botswana has donated television sets, satellite dishes and top of the range decoders loaded with Educational Bouquets to various schools within Botswana. “We believe that education becomes more effective when teachers are able to merge what they are teaching with visuals. We have built key partnerships with a number of disadvantaged groups across the country, including the Cheshire Foundation for Disabled Peoples, an organisation we have been working with for the last decade. This is just yet one more way we strive to make a difference. We plan to continue to ensure that what we offer Batswana is relevant in every way, from our customer to our community.”
