It’s that time of year, when brides and grooms to be, or those simply looking to enjoy a spot of bridal fun and fashion, mark their calendars. Save the date, folks, as the Masa Square Hotel Wedding Expo & Fashion Show 2016 is soon upon us! This year’s Wedding Expo & Fashion Show is set for 28th May 2016, and will by all accounts be a celebration of local talent.
On the back of 3 years of ever incredible instalments of this now annual platform, the 2016 edition is set to be a truly BW pride moment, building upon the mentorship aspect of years passed. With a line up of Botswana’s finest up and coming talent, Masa Square Hotel is set to shine the spotlight on Botswana’s fashion leaders.
“In previous years, we were humbled to have a number of internationally renowned designers participate in the annual Wedding Expo & Fashion Show. This included such big brand names as Taibo Bacar and Gert Johan-Coetzee. They worked with some of the emerging talent in Botswana, side by side, to deliver an exceptional show. This was also an opportunity for up and coming local designers to learn from those with a bit more experience, and its something that appears to have truly paid off. Now, however, we feel it is time to really let our proverbial stars shine, as our very own home grown talent shows us what they’ve got, and how they’re working to empower their fellow local designers,” said Masa Square Hotel General Manager, Gregg Soutter.
The bevy of local talent showcasing their designers is set to be announced soon. This will see the return of a number of local designers from previous years as well as fresh, new talent.
The Masa Square Hotel Wedding Expo & Fashion Show will take place at Masa Square Hotel. The Wedding Expo is free to all, and runs from 10h00 to 17h00. The glamorous Fashion Show will take place at 19h00 against the dazzling lights of Gaborone’s CBD. Tickets are available from Masa Square Hotel reception at P250 each. Those looking to exhibit in the Expo are advised to contact the Hotel Reception.
“We’re thrilled with the fact that this will be a truly Botswana production, celebrating the wealth of local design talent we have in this country. This truly is Botswana’s year, and we cannot wait to ramp up our celebration of her richness,” added Soutter
