Firestone Diamonds appoints Liqhobong Diamond Mine Chief Project Officer

firestone logoFirestone Diamonds plc, the AIM-quoted diamond development company, has announced the appointment of Glenn Black as the Chief Project Officer for the implementation of the fully-funded (subject to certain conditions precedent) Liqhobong Diamond Mine, located in the Lesotho-highlands.

 Glenn Black joins the Firestone Senior Management Team with 40 years’ experience in the mining industry.  Glenn has over 30 year’s project experience at a senior management level, having managed the full project life cycle for numerous projects from project conceptual and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning and steady state production.

 Glenn spent over 20 years with the De Beers Group of companies working on major projects in Namibia, South Africa, Canada and Botswana and has successfully delivered nine of the largest and most complex projects undertaken by De Beers during this period. These projects come with an excellent track record of delivery, ahead of schedule, and on or under budget while meeting nameplate design.
