The programme for the 13th Botswana Resource Sector Conference has been published and the event will bring together most of the resource players in Botswana under one roof. The conference is endorsed and fully supported by the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources (MMWER) and Botswana Chamber of Mines (BCM).
The conference, which has seen year on year growth since its inception, has positioned itself very successfully as a valuable resource conference and a firm fixture on the conference circuit for resource players with over 350 delegates attending annually.
“With focussed presentations from many of the resource companies operating in Botswana the conference offers the ultimate networking forum for anyone interested in any of the different commodities currently being explored in Botswana,” said the organisers.
So far, presentations confirmed to date include updates from African Energy, Petra Diamonds, Gem Diamonds, Boteti Mining, Tlou Energy, Shumba Coal, Debswana, Discovery, Puma Energy, Khoemacau and Jindal.
There will also be some open discussions sessions focussing on the road ahead for Botswana’s resource sector. A panel session chaired by Boikobo Paya with experts discussing the future of the resource sector including Charles Siwawa of BCM, Mashale Phumaphi Shumba Coal, Keith Jefferis Econsult and Nchidzi Mmolowa MMWER.
“In addition we can expect to see a keynote from the Minister and an update from the Department of Geological Surveys’s Tsiyapo Ngwisanyi as well a presentation from a leading commercial bank on investing in resources.”
“With such a strong line up of speakers and a focussed agenda, delegate registration has started early and bodes well for yet another successful networking conference,” added the organisers.
The conference is taking place from June 9- 10 at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).
