Diwali Pushes Up De Beers’ Sales In Cycle 10 2018

De Beers Group has announced the value of rough diamond sales (Global Sightholder Sales and Auction Sales) for the tenth sales cycle of 2018.

According to the diamond major, provisional figures for Cycle 10 2018 stood at $540m, with those for Cycle 9 2018 actual recorded at $ 442m. on the other hand, the company reported that actual figures for Cycle 10 2017 were $455m.

Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group, said: “De Beers Group’s rough diamond sales during the final cycle of the year continued to be in line with expectation ahead of the all-important retail selling season as cutting and polishing factories in India restarted their operations following the Diwali holiday.”

1 Cycle 10 2018 provisional sales value represents sales as at 17 December 2018. 2 Cycle 9 2018 actual sales value is restated following the earlier publication of a provisional figure for the ninth sales cycle of 2018. 3 Sales values are quoted on a consolidated accounting basis. Auction Sales included in a given cycle are the sum of all sales between the end of the preceding cycle and the end of the noted cycle.
