Botswana Life, the country’s leading life insurer, last week sponsored a 6-day all-expenses-paid trip for three (3) of their high-performing financial advisors to attend a LIMRA sales forum in Boston – USA. LIMRA is an international organisation that conducts research on distribution systems for life insurance products on behalf of its member companies, of which Botswana Life Insurance is an affiliated member.
Moletlanyi Tshosa, Botswana Life’s Head of Individual Life explained, “In an effort to motivate and foster a culture of high performance, Botswana Life created a sales competition for its direct intermediaries with the reward being the all-expenses-paid trip. We are committed to the growth and development of our distribution partners. This is just one of the initiatives that we have in place to develop a culture of excellence among them.”
“Our affiliation with LIMRA provides us with access to valuable insights on industry best practice, which are of great benefit to our distribution partners as well. LIMRA hosted the Advanced Sales Forum from the 5th to the 7th of August and it was a great opportunity for us to reward our top performers by sending them to the Forum where they could learn from industry experts in order to import knowledge to the local industry”, Tshosa said.
Semponye Sebele from the Maun branch, Akanyang Kenalemang and Omo Amstel Molemi, both from the Francistown branch, emerged as winners in the sales competition that ran from the 1st of January to the 31st of December 2012.
The three (3) financial advisors departed for Boston on the 3rd of August 2013 and returned on Monday 12th of August, where they were welcomed by the Botswana Life CEO Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele. The advisors expressed excitement and gratitude at being awarded the trip as a prize. The three (3) winners networked with their counterparts at the forum and explored the areas of interest that Boston has to offer at leisure.
Concluded Tshosa, “We, at Botswana Life, reward talent .This trip not only served as a form of professional development, but as a well-deserved vacation for the competition winners. The winners displayed one of Botswana Life’s values of service excellence and it is for this reason that they were recognised.”
