First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) showcased its dedication towards growing the understanding of property finance and the role of property finance within the industry by partaking in the Property Investment and Construction Expo 2013.
The BSE listed financial services giant, a leader in the local property finance space, took part in the annual Property Expo held at Fairgrounds, Gaborone, from 10-12th October 2013 in a bid to provide Expo attendees with advice on issues of banking, finance and consulting in the property market.
The Property Expo, which is the only annual business, property, finance and investment showcase event held in Botswana, served as a platform for the public to meet and question relevant experts in the field of property and finance.
The Expo, now in its third year, drew people from various fields, including building and construction entrepreneurs, members of the public looking to lease and rent properties, institutional and private investors and home buyers.
The Expo boasted an attendance of no less than 1000 attendees daily, testifying to the growing interest in property investment and property finance potential. The Expo provided the perfect opportunity for visitors to meet those in the property and finance industries whilst also fostering stronger relationships between exhibitors which ranged from property finance, property and estate management services, insurance, equity and loan services, architectural design services, as well as property and land developers.
“We have exhibited at the Expo before and we look forward to continuing to do so in the future. What is key for us is ensuring that our clients, both current and potential, understand the various ways in which we are able to help, advise and support them, ” noted Boiki Tema – Director FNB Property Finance. “The property industry and indeed the property finance space itself continue to evolve and forums such as these let you really see how much the industry has grown.”
FNBB operated a stall disseminating information on the various products and services it has on offer for those looking for property finance. The Bank sought to increase the access to insight and advice for Expo-goers through partnership with various businesses in the property sector including Pam Golding, Prolific Designs, KnightFrank, Akanyang Skinner and MG Properties, who served as part of the FNBB stall on a rotational basis. In addition, a number of spot quizzes saw Expo visitors learn more about property finance and the Bank’s offerings through a more interactive approach.
“The FNBB Property Finance Division helps people, be it individuals or companies, know and understand areas such as their buyer mandate, i.e. what loan they qualify for either commercial or residential and their obligations. Above all, we want to empower the public to understand their options and how property finance really works so they may make informed, educated decisions,” concluded Mr Tema.
