Samsung Botswana this week announced the appointment of John Moir as Country Manager effective immediately. Moir takes the reigns at Samsung with over 30 years of experience across the IT space and more than 5 years’ experience in the computer software industry.
Moir has, during his career, held senior roles with a number of organisations in the industry across the globe. He has managed projects in Education, Public Sector and Banking and ran his own ICT Company for over 10 years. Moir’s previous roles include working at Microsoft, Deloitte, Texaco, Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays and GTZ.

Prior to joining Samsung, he served as Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard, heading up the new branch for HP and the first Managing Director as part of the Africa expansion project and HP’s transformation. He initiated some unique CSR programmes in Botswana, forming partnerships with Government, NGO’s and Parastatals. Prior to this, Moir served as Country Manager of Microsoft in Botswana for close to three years.
