Puma Energy, the global integrated midstream and downstream energy company, has been honoured with the 2013 Platts Global Energy Award in the Midstream Industry Leadership category. The company competed against five other companies as a finalist in this category.

The Platts Global Energy Awards recognise excellence and innovation by companies and executives throughout the global energy industry. A total of approximately 200 individuals and companies were finalists for the Global Energy Awards with hundreds more nominated.

According to Platts, “Mid-Stream Industry Leadership Award recognizes companies with the courage and conviction to make fundamental changes in the way they operate, changes that are so clearly right that other companies have been compelled to follow in their footsteps. Leadership, market expansion, corporate integrity and financial success are chief among the characteristics that this award celebrates.”

In the midstream sector, Puma Energy has 4.6 million m3 of installed storage capacity and handles approximately 24 million m3 of oil products per year.  All terminal operations are managed in-house, making Puma Energy one of the largest independent fuel storage operators worldwide and enables the company to directly control a critical part of its supply chain.

Puma Energy’s midstream operations support their downstream activities.  The Company has developed successful retail, wholesale, B2B, aviation bunkering, lubricant, bitumen, LPG and supply businesses across Africa, the Americas, Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
