Mining Investment Botswana, part of the Global Mining Investment Conference Series, will be launched in Gaborone, Botswana from 13 – 15 February 2017. This will be the only location in Southern Africa within the entire Mining Investment Series for 2017 and it seeks to draw international investors to Botswana to explore the mining opportunities in the country and the region.
Mining Investment will launch in Botswana
Mining Investment Botswana is a strategic global mining conference that connects miners, investors, government officials and service providers for networking, partnering and business matching opportunities. Since its inception in Singapore in 2015, Mining Investment Conferences have successfully expanded beyond Asia to Panama, Oman and Nigeria with the same core objectives of highlighting mining investment opportunities in the host country and region as well as providing a networking, business matching and partnerships platform.
In Botswana, this inaugural conference is expected to gather over 200 attendees from various parts of the world to discuss on how industry players are coping with the volatile commodity prices, capital raising, investment strategies, technical innovations and where the mining industry is headed.
Various aspects of the mining industry in Botswana will also be discussed through presentations and panel discussions by senior representatives from Botswana. Key speakers include: Sadique Kebonang, Minister for the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Botswana; Tshekedi Khama, Minister, Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, Conservation and Tourism, Botswana; and Charles Siwawa, CEO Botswana Chamber of Mines.
With growing interest to explore other sources of mining investment opportunities in the Southern African region, response towards Mining Investment Botswana has been encouraging and various speakers, sponsors and exhibitors have thus come on board for this event.
