SADC Ministers of Environment, Natural Resources Meet In Botswana

The Botswana’s minister for Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Tshekedi Khama will play host to other ministers from the region in Gaborone. According to the ministry, SADC Ministers of Environment and Natural Resources will meet at the Gaborone International Conference Centre (GICC) in Gaborone, Botswana on Friday 6th November 2015.

“During this meeting, SADC Ministers will review progress on the Environment and Natural resources sector. Ministers will also deal with a number of policy issues that are expected to facilitate regional integration for sustainable development,” the ministry said.

“In addition, the meeting will also consider the SADC Regional Common Position for Climate Change in preparation for the upcoming 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change scheduled to take place in Paris, France from 31st November to 11th December 2015.”

The meeting will be officially opened by Khama, who is the chair of the SADC Committee of Ministers of Environment and Natural Resources.
