Debswana Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) on 22nd November 2012 honoured employees who have served the mining company for a continuous 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service at an event to be held in Orapa.
The company says the ceremony aims at recognising the loyalty and perseverance of 103 employees who have spent many years working for a company that has been the backbone of Botswana’s economy and ensuring that it lives to its brand promise of ‘Mining the Resource, Enriching the Nation’.
Debswana Long Service Awards are granted to employees in recognition of their long period of service with the company, the commitment they have made, the loyalty they have demonstrated and in celebration of the career milestones they have made during their tenure with the company.
It is also part of the company’s concerted efforts to motivate and engage its employees whilst reinforcing the message of rewarding loyalty and being passionate. Early this year, OLDM held long service awards recognition ceremonies for employees who have worked for the company for the past 5, 10 and 15 years, respectively.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dorcas Makgato- Malesu, who is also a former employee of OLDM, was the guest of honour at this august event.
