Monday nights have fast established themselves as Espretto Quiz Nights. Lansmore Masa Square’s weekly quiz sensation continues to draw those eager to take home the title of ‘Quiz Night Champions’.

Hosted by the ever-popular Simba Mudereri, the coffee shop quiz nights offer teams the chance to go head-to-head with their general knowledge in an environment of healthy competition. The weekly battle of the minds sees a typical 6 round structure. Teams work to best each other in rounds such as: General Knowledge, The Cocktail Round, Name That Face, The Food Test, Logo Round, Sports Round, The Movie Round, and arguably the most challenging, The Video Round.

“We wanted to create the kind of environment where friends and colleagues can unwind after a long day at the office by flexing their trivia knowledge while enjoying a light meal. We’ve seen many a team surprised by the results as you’re forced to think back to what you learned about the water cycle, the Rugrats theme song, or the ingredients in a mystery cocktail,” said Lansmore Masa Square Sales and Marketing Manager, Ms. Botho Mogami.

 
The rules of the quiz night are simple: grab your friends and form a team of 4 or less. Mobile phones are set aside, and all rounds must be completed without any assistance outside of your team. You mark the round you feel is your strongest as your “Joker,” allowing you to earn double points for that round. Those who seek to form a team any larger than 4 are still eligible to play, but immediately forfeit their chance to use their “Joker.”

Said Simba, “You’d be surprised the things you suddenly no longer remember when the pressure’s on! We’ve had everyone from corporate executives to DJs, and everyone leaves determined to win the next time. Victors stand to win vouchers ranging from free drinks at Absolut to free accommodation at Lansmore. More importantly, you stand to earn bragging rights!”

Espretto Quiz Nights are held every Monday evening at 7.30pm at Lansmore Masa Square. There is no admission fee to participate in the weekly quiz night sessions, though all teams must be registered in Espretto by 7.30pm ahead of each quiz session.
