Following the suspension of the CemAir flights by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), Air Botswana has in turn temporarily suspended its direct route between Gaborone and Cape Town. The route is currently being operated through a Lease Agreement with CemAir.

Air Botswana said; “As an International Air Transportation (IATA) accredited airline the safety of our passengers is at the heart of our business and any safety related allegations are dealt with.”

We therefore sincerely apologise for the inconvenience we have caused our passengers over the past two weeks and would like to thank them for their loyalty and provide assurance that we are working hard to restore normal service on the Gaborone-Cape Town, which will be communicated in due course.”

As a temporary measure, all Cape Town ticketed passengers are being re-routed via Johannesburg at no extra cost, until a definite solution has been implemented.

“We would like to thank all passengers for their patience and understanding during this period.” (BWgovernment)
