The audience will be treated to too much hilarity and great silliness from a variety of comics as they take to the stage on Friday the 7 th of February.

The fresh and funny lineup will feature both local and international comedians for the first event of the year. The stellar lineup that has resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende will feature fresh comedy from Kagisure Sebeho and Teboho Goodenough Moholo from South Africa, Queen of comedy Malebogo ‘Lebo English’ Lekgowa, Maatla Ephraim Basha, and Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware. The event will also bring upcoming comedians to the forefront as new comedians will be introduced and given a chance to share stage with these established acts.

Events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Mr Gaolathe Kediemetse said, “Since we introduced the monthly shows last year, we have had promising support and have explored ways of getting Botswana talent to shine internationally. Thapelo Malani and Maruza performed in Zambia, Triccs showcased in Swaziland, Brooks performed in Lesotho while Maatla Ephraim showcased in Bloemfontein, South Africa. With these monthly events we also build relations and exchange talent with other countries in our quest to create a sustainable market and continual artist development.”

Kagisure Sebeho is not only a top notch comedian, but he’s also an astute comedy event organizer in Bloemfontein. He has hosted several sought after comedians in his hometown including hosting Brooks, Maatla Ephraim and Thapelo Malani at the Bloemfontein Civic Theater. Event headliner Teboho Goodenough Moholo who hails from Welkom, South Africa is not only a standup comedian, but he’s also a Radio personality, Voice over artist, and corporate events MC. He is an award-winning stand-up comedian, whose stock has been rising and he delivers outstanding performances.

“We are excited to be hosting the monthly event for the 2nd year running. Although we struggle with sponsorship for our events, we are grateful for Masa Square Hotel in helping us develop this art form. We want to develop and contribute positively to lives of the comedians so that they can be able to make a living off comedy like elsewhere in the world”, added Mr Kediemetse. The venue sponsor is Masa Square Hotel and tickets are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P150 single and P200 double. The show starts at 8pm.
